Deep Well Project

February 2009 a 600 foot deep well borehole was dug at the children’s home.  As far as we know, this is the only deep well within 100 to 150 miles.

Fall 2009 the Water Tower / Utility Building was completed.  This building can support four 10,000 liter water storage tanks, a electric generator and electrical components.

April 2010 a well pump and generator were installed.  Clean, fresh water is flowing.  The children and the community are very thankful.

Water Filtration Project

June 2009 Oasis started a water filtration project using the Aqua Clara filter system design. (www.aquaclara.org)

Water Filters

The older children at the orphanage manufacture water filters for the needy people in the surrounding communities.  The water is filtered through layers of sand, copper, zinc and bacteria.  It costs $15 to build one 70 litre filter that can purify 40 litres per day.   The Aqua Clara organization provides the copper and zinc free of charge.
