Each of the 74 children has a North American sponsor. These sponsors donate $75 per month to cover the costs of the child's care and schooling.. Sponsors and their sponsored children write letters back and forth many times a year. It is a privilege to be the carriers of the letters to the children’s home.
To put this in perspective, imagine never ever having received a letter before. Imagine not having a photograph to call your own. Combine that with the concept of someone from 8,000 miles away, from a country that you will probably never visit, desiring to know all about you and inviting you to become in essence a member of their family. Pretty overwhelming don't you think? The Children treasure the letters and pictures they receive from their American families.
