The families of Oasis, including many of our own children, have had the tremendous privilege of traveling to the Trans Mara.  We have met and interacted with the children who are a part of our sponsorship program. What a joy it is to see kids from thousands of miles apart, separated by many different types of barriers, thoroughly enjoying each other's company; laughing and playing from sun up to sun down.

Some of these children lost their parents due to very tragic and unexpected circumstances, and others died due to illness. They range in age from 6 months to 15 years old and there is a good balance between boys and girls. While most of the children come from within a 10 km radius, there are a number of children from as far away as 100 km. We are also honored to care for multiple sets of siblings in our program, with the largest group consisting of 3 brothers and a sister. Most of these sibling sets had been separated before coming to the orphanage and are now a family again. Many of the children have relatives living in the area (usually a grandmother) and the orphanage staff enables frequent visits with the relatives, which is a tremendous blessing to the children.  While our program currently is limited to 74 children, there is a need to accommodate many, many more.

These Kenyan children are bright, beautiful, amazing kids who want the same things that our children want: to be loved and cared for and to have a future and a hope. As you look at their pictures and read some of their stories we hope that your heart will be moved toward compassion.
